HIGHLIGHTS
This Devta from the Bharmour region of District Chamba passing through triloknath of Spiti reached to Tharas. There his four ‘Kala’s appeared. ‘Kala’ of Makrahad (Tharas) is considered to be the eldest ‘Kala’. Moving ahead from Tharas, Devta moved himself in trans (fortified) after reaching to Sajwad. This Devta was taken from there by Tripur Bala Sundari of viilage Bala along with her at this place and both started living here altogether. According to another saying, Markandey was a great saint of vedic period. About his visit to this place, it is said that at very first this Devta from Lahoul reached to Tegubehad near Mohal and finished sixty wicked families. From there, he reached to Makrahad passing through Phagu, Chhaiunr, Jia and Hata. There, an old lady of Raul family got a façade while she was working in a field. The façade transformed into a Dev and explored that he is Markandey. The old lady put this to her ‘Kilat’ then washed this façade in river Beas and finaly took it to a place of Raul Behad and established there. Here there is temple even today.
