HIGHLIGHTS
According to the Bhartha of Jalandi Devta, he was the youngest of the four sons of Vasudev Rishi of Mansarovar. His original name was Shyana Rishi. When these four brothers were leaving the place he was sleeping. He was awakened by the eldest brother Sringi. Due to the word Shayan (Sleeping) he got his name: Shyana. Leaving their two brothers Mana and Dhyana behind, Shringi and Jalandi reached Sakiran Kanda passing through Boong Badhogi via Sainj Valley, Kullu and Hamta- Malana in search of a suitable place. Then leaving his brother Shringi behind Jalandi reached Bashleo Jot. On the way he met many devtas who offered him Baitha Raj but he refused them all. Then he saw Sarahan and started living there. Villagers constructed a temple, rath and mohras for him. He also eliminated a malechha family who was living near Jalori Jot. The devta has 16 mohras in all.
